Run: 0/25.1 miles
I had planned on a long mountain-bike ride this weekend, but when my wife said she wanted to join me on the trail I couldn’t pass up the chance to ride with her. We tackled 8 miles of the 27-mile course I originally had intended to ride. Not only did we have a fun time riding today, but it made me even more hungry to ride the entire route when the next opportunity arrives.
I also had another short but promising swim session this weekend. It was 20 laps – four easy breast-stroke laps to warm up and then the rest in freestyle. It’s fun to at least be able to do the stroke now, and as I swim try to think of incorporating the flood of tips and tricks I’ve picked up. It’s less academic and more practical, and it feels good to be making improvements in the actual stroke I will use on race day.
